A weekend meditation

I want to keep it very simple this week.

Here is a concept that is essential if you are serious about innovation and transformation at your company:

Uncomfortable conversations are required.

If we are going to ensure that our organization is operating at the forefront of what's possible, we will have to regularly challenge our own institutional belief systems. This means sitting down with organizational leaders and challenging their mental models and operating frameworks. We can never stop asking ourselves, "Why are we doing it this way?"

This will create emotional friction and expend mental energy, making it quite difficult to do it regularly. However, building this examination process into the culture is critical. Remember, great ideas can come from anywhere, at any time... but so can terrible ideas. Meaning, even brilliant people can have shit ideas.

Doing great work requires being uncomfortable.

Have a great weekend!
